History was made at the Qatar Goodwood Festival yesterday when STRADIVARIUS crowned his stellar career with a fourth win in the prestigious G1 Goodwood Cup. The small chestnut colt with the big heart became the first horse ever to accomplish this feat and has now extended his impressive record to seven G1 wins in fourteen group wins total and more than three million euros in prize money. According to his trainer John Gosden, the son of Sea The Stars is next pointed to the Prix Foy in preparation for the Arc later in the year. A route, while coming unexpected, is not out of reach for the versatile colt.
Versatility along with a pronounced staying ability and great turn of foot are obvious traits running in the family of PROTECTIONIST, which the British bred Goodwood Cup hero is part of as STRADIVARIUS's dam PRIVATE LIFE is a half-sister to PROTECTIONIST's second dam PARISIENNE.
