First yearling sale for PROTECTIONIST successful in the books

The first ever yearling auction sale for PROTECTIONIST offspring is in the books. Last night, the 2019 BBAG Yearling Sale closed with its best result ever and nine of the more than two hundred yearlings consigned in the catalogue had successfully kicked off the Monsun-son's career as a sire of auctioned horses. The nine offspring offered generated a total of €419,000 averaging €46,555 per horse, which is a wonderful result for a freshman sire! The highest bid taken on a yearling by PROTECTIONIST was placed by Irish trainer Joseph O'Brien for €95,000 on a colt out of the unproven ZIPPITY DO DA, who is a daughter of the top-mare POLISH ROMANCE. At €82,000, the second highest price was paid for a colt out of Listed winner PEACE SOCIETY; he was acquired by Powerstown Stud Ltd. Both horses were consigned by Ronald Rauscher Bloodstock.
