PROTECTIONIST daughter AMAZING GRACE impressed in her first appearance in the United States yesterday when the five-year-old scored her first Group win on the North American continent the $195,000 Gr.3 Orchid Stakes at Gulfstream Park. The mare had a challenging trip, however, and in the end had to stretch a lot to secure her first US win after 2,400 metres. Coming from the back of the pack, AMAZING GRACE shone with a terrific final attack and had a neck advantage at the post. Joel Rosario was in the saddle for trainer Christoph Clement and her new owners Stud Farm Ltd Moyglare.
Gr.2 winner AMAZING GRACE was bred by Dr. Christoph Berglar in whose colours she was placed Gr.1 multiple times in Germany before she was knocked down to Irish Myglare Stud for €850,000 at Arqana at the end of 2022.
